This old tintype came from a friend's estate. I had to provide a frame, as it didn't have one. The detail is hard to photograph but their legs are "criss-crossed", and they are holding hands over the knee caps.
Scottvez might know...goofing around? European?
Maybe that is just a really ugly woman with the cigar or proof that you can't jog-off ugly!
Siamese twins ?
I think Manikin is right. After a closer look, they appear to be connected at the shoulder at least.
The one on the right has his arm around the one on the left. His hand is visible resting on the left one's shoulder. Not conjoined twins.
Blunderbuss2, your comment speaks much more about you than the photo.
Male affection (hand holding/ crossed legs/ crossed arms, etc...) was common in this era and into the 20th century.
In some cultures today it is not considered unusual.

Thanks BigTex. I consider that a compliment & shows that I haven't been brainwashed by liberals.
Scott, in many, many cultures, it is punishable by death. I think this just another example of Amer. liberals pushing something way past the center & into the extreme. Maybe you're correct. I have been in many countries where school girls would walk hand in hand & it was normal in their society & didn't mean it had any aberrant meaning. Hope I haven't offended anybody by not being pro-aberrant.
In what cultures are same sex hand holding/ hugging and other forms of affection punishable by death?
scott
Check out Mid East.
For record, the "fag" comment made by Blunderbuss2 has been deleted.
I lived in the Middle East for over 5 years-- male affection, such as hand holding was VERY COMMON among friends! Cheek kissing was typical among long time friends.

Fag comment in it's entirety was as follows: Can't imagine 2 fags letting themselves be photographed like that in those days & would probably have trouble finding a photographer to take it. Maybe reunited brothers? In those days, they could get killed & nobody would care or probably even look for the killer.

Scott, cheek kissing is practiced in many cultures. I do it here, with females, as I work in French territory. In many, if not most Mid-E countries, homosexuality is a serious crime. You are trying to start something Scott & I will not be lead into your quagmire.
Fag comment was not written by me, nor did I delete it.
