I need help identifying these costume jewelry pieces. My mother had tons of this stuff. Funny thing is... she almost never wore any of them.
I love them but they don't love me. They really irritate my skin.

I would definitely hang on them. They don't take a whole lot of space and someday you will be happy you have them :)

Val and Doc, thank you both very much. I really only have a handful of pieces. Another family member pretty much has my mother's entire collection. I'm one of the reserved children. So are they going to be worth anything later? After my basement flooded, I'm ready to get rid of everything now. But if I have items that will be of value for my son later on in life, than I will hold onto them for him.

Aims, as far as value, it's hard to tell. I collect either designer, or if they are sterling, bakelite, period piece or interesting stone. It took me a while to figure out what I like and now I focus on those... Am I bummed out that I let go of some interesting pieces a couple of years ago... YES.... So, if you can try to keep em... Your son can later decide what to do with them.
ps... totally understand the reserved child thing...

Don't worry about having to save these. They won't pay for college, maybe a dinner. Pretty pieces but mass-produced and common, nothing special. If you need space and don't have a sentimental attachment to them let them go before corrosion gets them.
