    mystery of this glass butterfly was solved by TC. Many thanks TallCakes.. I've had it for awhile now. I've kept it sitting on a shelf next to a photo of my son holding a dragonfly. They love him and land on him all the time.

      looks like the Fenton Butterfly Ring Tree from 1980s. They also has one similar with a tiny owl on the branch.

      A Pleasure Aim:) I hope mine gets recognised. I've not found another in a glass dome...yet. I wonder what attracts dragonflies to your son, lol. Mine used to attract ants, or rather not notice them & sit on their nests. luckily they were too small to bite!
