Found this pie plate in a trunk at my Dads, dated "1763 Bucks Co"on back with initials " A H" Only research finds Andrew Headman as a potter in that time frame. Is this a genuine piece?

Honestly....I would certainly have it looked at by someone who knows Bucks Co. Pottery. If you live in the area maybe try the museum this piece is in. If you have an authentic piece it is certainly early, as this one in the link is dated circa 1808. Nearly 50 years after yours.

I am sure you have seen the link:
      http://books.google.com/books?id=F-kCAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA154&lpg=PA154&dq=Andrew+Headman+pottery&source=bl&ots=emspYyGQ6c&sig=Uq5Q4qNBDHjgEGXTlu9rqNrZG14&hl=en&sa=X&ei=g-pnUvm4AZPLkQfsmYH4BA&ved=0CCsQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=Andrew%20Headman%20pottery&f=false

Actually the link speaks of a pie plate with a star in the middle, decorate by tulips. Very much like yours. You may have an original....nice.

PS. I live 30 minutes from Bucks County, in Jersey, which is why I would like to know the outcome. Best of luck!

I'm not finding much info on Headman, especially his DOB. That would make the date of 1763 on back of plate more meaningful. Do you know of more in depth resources?
