Dont have any idea's what this is and how old? Possible letter opener feels like plastic also. Has flowers on it as show.

What a lovely letter opener, could it be Bakelite instead it also looks to be Oriental. Knowing me I am most probley way off the mark. Good luck.
If it made of Bakelite i wonder if this from 1890s, Our realitive traveled around the world a few time with her husband a captain of the last Clipper ships from New York.
I think you might find it is a page turner and could be tortoiseshell?...love it!...:-)
