This is a 1979 USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republic) Mint Coin Set issued by the Leningrad Mint in its original presentation case & folder. It contains nine coins with denominations from 1 Kopek to 1 Rouble along with the Leningrad Mint token (diamond-shape) and the date ingot (Russian one side, English on reverse) as described below:
(Y#'s are from the Krause & Mishler Standard Catalog of World Coins)
Y# 126a - 1 Kopek - Brass * (see note below)
Y# 127a - 2 Kopeks - Brass * (see note below)
Y# 128a - 3 Kopeks - Aluminum-Bronze
Y# 129a - 5 Kopeks - Aluminum-Bronze
Y# 130 - 10 Kopeks - Copper-Nickel-Zinc
Y# 131 - 15 Kopeks - Copper-Nickel-Zinc
Y# 132 - 20 Kopeks - Copper-Nickel-Zinc
Y# 133a.2 - 50 Kopeks - Copper-Nickel-Zinc
Y# 134a.2 - 1 Rouble - Copper-Nickel-Zinc
* - The 1 & 2 Kopeks are described in the catalog as brass, however varieties exist and the specimens in the mint set resemble a content of aluminum-bronze.
The Leningrad Mint token and date ingot are both solid brass.
The KM identification number for the set is #MS 20 and there was a total mintage of 75,000 mint sets. The reverse of all nine coins depicts the date and denomination, the obverse depicts the State Emblem of the Soviet Socialist Republic.
I would like to know if anyone has any idea of the approximate valuation of this set. I have one in Mint condition. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
