This is a nice hand blown piece, I'm not sure if it is a vase or light shade, a satin finish, a very nice quality piece, any ideas on the age or maker?

Thank you LeahGoodwin, I would guess this to be a base/bottom to a small oil lamp maybe?

The Kopp family in the USA is very interesting, Leah!

This is an article in German on the Kopp connection to the USA.

It is written by F. Peter Wilhelm.
"Die Glasmacher Nicholas Kopp, senior und junior. Von der Fenner Glashütte über Gersweiler und Wadgassen nach Ohio / USA"

      http://www.pressglas-korrespondenz.de/aktuelles/pdf/wilhelm-glasmacher-kopp.pdf

"Mr. Nicholas Kopp, the manager, designer and metal maker ... is the greatest glass chemist in the world.“ (Zeitungsbericht anlässlich des Eintritts in die Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass and Glass Co., 1901)

A newspaper report from 1901 when Kopp joined the Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass and Glass Co..

If you look down the page there is a photo of something very similar to the Red Glass Vase: Salzstreuer "Guttate" Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co. 1894. A salt shaker.
