Old Family Rocker Found In Grandpa's Attic

We found this rocker in my Grandfather's attic while cleaning out his house to sell in Connecticut a few years ago. He had passed away and my Grandmother, bless her heart, has Alzheimers, so she didn't recall anything about the chair. It's solid wood, very heavy and sturdy. Well made chair. We had the seat recushioned. The old cushion was missing. The chair has beautiful carvings on the back. Any clue what era this is from?
