I picked this up at a garage sale this morning. Can anyone help with identifying. I seem to be finding glass with the "ice look".
The lady I got it from thinks it was a wedding present to her aunt in 193o's.
It weighs 1.2 kg or 2 3/4 lb.
    measures 22cm long x 18 cm high x 10 cm deep.
It matches my vase purchased last week.
It has no seems and no markings.I have edited the heading
Seems it a beautiful hoya crystal 1980,s Japan
    Cheers Rose

The pattern resembles my Blenko "Ice" crystal ashtray but I can't find anything similar to your bowl on Blenko sites.

It is driving me nuts. All this glass and no clearer picture. I have a vase on here too with a similar"ice" or "bark" top.

Rose I am almost totally sure this bowl was not from the 30s. Why? Because I am also almost totally sure it is a 70s/80s bowl made by Hoya Crystal, Japan. I have one and think it is an excellent piece of glass, beautifully styled and made, weighty and optically special. I researched like you, thinking it was Scandinavian, but am comfortable with this ID now.
Hoya generally have made high quality glassware, and this bowl is an example of their skill and design. I am a bit of a Japanese Glassie and think many under rate their glass. These bowls also come in a smaller size, but they are generally rarer. Enjoy!
