Westmoreland was known for their Blue Opalescent carnival glass pieces. They are fairly common and not hard to find. This piece is a bit different though. This Smooth Rays bowl is best described as a carnival glass bowl with the base glass of Persian Blue!
Typically, the Persian Blue glass is identified with Fenton but there are some examples known produced by Westmoreland. It really gives the bowl a different look!

Note: This is OLD Westmoreland, not contemporary carnival glass

Carnival glass is a whole world onto itself. It can be pretty incredible stuff to collect depending upon color and pattern!

Thanks, it is an interesting piece. I used to really be into carnival glass many years ago. Been around it a long time but this is a little unusual for Westmoreland, typical would be blue opal.
