This is variation No. 1 of the Queen Elizabeth II pocket watch manufactured by Ingersoll Ltd (Great Britain) in 1953 to commemorate the Coronation event. The numerals are replaced by the word 'CORONATION' on the dial. Furthermore, the watch bow design is in the shape of a 'crown' and the English 'coat-of-arms' is engraved on the case back.
I will be posting variation No. 2, also by Ingersoll Ltd GB, and one other example by Smiths in due course. Hope you have enjoyed this posting!

Phil, sorry for the late reply! I have no idea how much they were in 1953 but I do have a late 50s news paper cut out of an old Smiths Empire watch ad. It says the pocket watch models were from 27 shillings & 6 pence which is £1.41.
