My Great Grandfather was a Architect/Draftsman and would design the wood work for department stores and buildings. I recently found a box he used that seems antique, circa 1930-ish, that contains about 70 plus samples of all the different types of woods in 2x6 pieces. I have no further information about this and was wondering if it's something I should hold onto...
I would call it a keeper ! What a great piece to use to ID wood and it has a collectable interest also as a Salesman sample to show different wood looks or it was for un use in a wood supply store . I love it ! In this cade your uncle could take it woth him to job site and show it to builders . Great piece !
I agree Sis, Caroline should definitely hang on to this.
Could you add some pictures of the box, so we can see how it is constructed?
Love it?
wow my spell check really changed a few words . Should say in this "Case " and your uncle could take it "with him" I would love to see case also .
