The portrait is of Otto von Bismarck
"Prussian statesman who dominated German and European affairs with his conservative policies from the 1860s to his dismissal in 1890 by Emperor Wilhelm II." Wikipedia
toomuchstuff - are you sure? Bismarck was almost bald - sure this isn't Hindenburg?
99.9%
Bismarck's face is very broad with small forehead.
Otto von Bismarck has a more narrow face with tall forehead.
I have been wrong before, so I might stand corrected.
Sorry that should read:

I'm not sure either - put on those handlebar mustaches and all us Germans look alike. I would think though that Bismarck would be in a military uniform? Both President Hindenburg and Otto Bismarck were very much admired by the German people. - I cannot see what the pins are next to his coat lapel.
How about Frederick Augustus III of Saxonny
I keep finding loose links to the Radeberger Brewery....beginning to think this glass originated from there....I love a good mystery.....lol
I think it is great! Bohemian glass?
On the opposite side of the glass, there are two markings etched into the glass, one that say "1/8 (with a C or G next to it) and 1/4 (with a C or G next to it)
The mystery continues..........
Have you got a photo of the base? Pontil?
I would love to see the rim too to judge the thickness of the piece.
The C & G marks too?
