This was my mum's bracelet and it is just under 60 years old. Mum gave it to me some years back.
It is 22k gold which is a very high purity of gold used to make jewellery. If it is 24k which is the purest level, the gold is too soft to be used for jewellery I was told. 22k gold is very yellow, as compared to others such as 8k or 12k or 14k some of which is known as "rose gold". This bracelet is so pretty and the flower design looks like bluebells to me.
My mum's younger sister had a similar bracelet in a different floral pattern (mum called it "trumpet flower") but my aunt had it melted down later on to make another piece of jewellery because I think it was too small to fit her by then. I am lucky I have a small wrist so this bracelet fits me!
Wow... It's amazing and great story too.... I love it.
