      It's an official medal of the National Guard.

      Yeah, anyone that served 1945-1991 can purchase them but not wear them and they are to be displayed after all medals.

      Thanks for the great information, But what I have seen is the cold war veterans are wearing the ribbon on there American Legion hats. Sec of Def. Rumsfeld didn't create the cold war medal because of the cost factor to make and distribute 23+ million metals.

      I don't know about American legion hats, that's different than wearing it on official uniforms. My grandfather wears a ton of stuff on his comemortative VFW/LST reunion/DAV hats lol
