We found this jug in a 'free' bin. I found an article that indicated a similar-looking jug with one handle was from the 1800's, made in the Pennsylvania/Philidelphia area and was valued at arond $1200. The Canadian Antique Roadshow was in our city and when we took it there the fella said it was 'prussian' glass, was most popular in the 1930's and was worth between $1000-$3000.
I've looked online and I can't seem to find anything about 'prussian' glass. There is an area in Pennsylvania called 'King of Prussa' and glass came out of that area. Today we went to an antique market and most of the people I asked had heard about 'prussian' glass but didn't know much else about it. This website (http://www.bottlebooks.com/Most%20Valuable%20Bottles/most_valuable_blown_bottles.htm) seems to have the most alike description (under 'Midwestern Blown Glass').
Does anyone out there know anything about this glass? I'd love to find out more about it. You can comment on here or email me meganhedstrom@hotmail.com. Thanks :")
