2 pleasant company dolls would anyone know there names and the year they where made. I noticed the writing on the neck looks a little different on each doll see photos. Both have sleep eyes.

Hi Mike They are called " American Girls By Pleasant company , Josefina is from Mexico and her books and things you can buy for her tell of her life and adventures . Each girl named below comes with books about them . You can still buy her clothes on like ebay . She has white body so she is not one of the very early ones made . Very nice !

Hi Manikin I should have taken off the dress but the body in not white it looks more like the skin color.
Is it tan ? I always say dolls need to be nude to Id exact in your case color of body helps date her . Look at her side see if she has a tag sewn into seam in body .
Oh and also look at inside seam of clothes to see if tagged too :-)
And I need correct she lived in New Mexico in her story book .

Hard to see but by hair I believe that other one is Addy a courageous girl from 1864, determined to be free during the Civil War . Is he darker and also Addy has more straight eyebrows

The size of font on your dolls is common to find on them up till Mattel took over and they became more uniform . So not uncommon to find different size lettering on marking on neck .

older dolls have "© Pleasant Co" and some have the year. Recently, most dolls say "© American Girl, LLC"; this is dependent on when the face mold was created, not necessarily when the doll debuted.
Body shades differ slightly from factory ,not uncommon. The coarser hair on one tells me although she looks like Josefina she has to be Addy . Their bodies are correct and do NOT cut neck strings collectors want them left long .
Your mystery is solved . 2 American girl dolls by Pleasant Co. Josephina appears to have on original part of her outfit ,she is missing the skirt . Addy's dress I don't think is original to her but they contined to make clothes for all these dolls for a long period . It would have a tag in it though .
