Hello! Vietnam boots from Goodwill, great buy! NEW, I think! High Tech! haha Steel plate in bottom for protection from Punji Stakes, (see 4th photo), Canvas sides for faster drying after walking in Rice Patties or rain. ALSO see brass squirt holes in 2nd photo! if in water it would squirt out after finished walking through. Last photo is enemy making punji stakes! I heard they would put feces etc. to cause infection?! I do not know but even with steel plates in bottom you could get stuck in side of leg. They would put in hole and then camouflage the hole. Pardon my spelling! Many of us left boots on night and day, never know when you have to run!

I had a pair of those in the Army - they might still be someplace around here.

Loved these boots, even though there wasn't much padding in them. There was just something comfortable about them. They were still issuing these into the 1990s. I still have mine somewhere.

Thanks jonima, they were comfortable, really worked perfectly, and many army items did not! Thanks Phil!

Vietnam Jungle boots make excellent hiking / outdoors footwear
I found a pair in my size at Goodwill too, but mine have the Panama soles, and they were like new condition for $10

I collect a lot of military boots, and i hate to say this but those are reproductions. Not too say there not a good find, i had repros just like those i loved for at least 8 months. Real vietnam boots will have
Vertical seam (about 1cm long) running vertical up the heel
      Slightly different "Vibram" sole pattern
      Different drainage vents
Brand name stamped on sole(Genesco, Bata, Endicott-Johnson, C.I.C., etc)
Date stamped on outside of tongue, or inside of top nylon strap(mine say "9 N DJ 6-67 SPIKE PROTECTIVE")
      No plastic "aglets" on laces
      Vulcanized, direct-moulded rubber sole
Whats your size though? Someone is selling authentic ones on ebay for 40$ in a few sizes? Theyll be a lot better quality, ive had mine for 2 years. There my everyday boots too.
