This 3 piece sectional sofa has round removable cushions at either end that reveal a wooden tabletop. There are tags under the seat cushions showing that it was built by Van's Furniture Manufacturing Company Inc. out of Florida. It was shipped to Norfolk Virginia, and has been cleared by the Health Dept. for the Commonwealth of Virginia. While examining the tags, they say that the materials are compliant with acts that were approved from years ranging 1926-1929. The manufacturer supposedly sold the furniture business in the 1950's and began making cabinets instead. I can't find anything about this piece online. Anyone have any ideas?

Polyurethane foam only became commercially available starting in 1954 and the Zip Code was introduced in 1963, (which is absent from their address) so your date range is circa 1954-1962. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Thanks for the info about the approximate age. I would still like to learn more about the builder and the original looks of the piece. There is another tag under the frame that shows it in blue and to be delivered to Norfolk. I would like to find out what the original material looked like. I like the fact that it does have some age to it and looks so unique.
