Most likely a game token for "dollar" slot machines.

Coin from slot machine? I found this in a street in Brazil, about a year ago. I'm brazillian.

Yes, arcade games, slot machines, and amusement devices sometimes use tokens like this to skirt gambling laws.

If you don't believe TubeAmp - I will post my arcade token which has the same exact obverse. - What kind of metal is it made of?
    6. LeonardoFM, 11 years ago
I believe you. It's kind of disappointing to know that. I think it is made of nickel or something similar. Thank you for your help, anyway. As a brazilian, it was starting to be a big mystery to me.

Nickel or probably cupro-nickel (copper nickel alloy) - Maybe dropped by an American tourist or a recently returning Brasilian visitor to the U.S. - The eagle obverse is a very common used image on tokens here, it may have been a "generic" gaming or slot token used in a non-casino gambling area. I wouldn't be disappointed, its not silver or gold, but you can always consider it a "lucky medallion".

At least, now it's my "lucky medallion" =]
