I bought these to study. I have NO idea what they are. I thought they looked like mini tulip chairs. Too small for Barbie. Too old for Polly Pockets. Egg holders? Only clue is that they say Hong Kong on the bottom.

Thought I would throw it out to the team, just for fun.

      Plastic? Ceramic?
    2. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
      Sorry, should have said...plastic.
    3. jonima jonima, 11 years ago
I don't know why, but the first thing that came to mind was a female urine specimen thingy.

      2 1/2 inches tall, 1 1/2 wide
Plastic doesn't seem sanitary enough for anything medical...even if it is 50 years old.

Yuck!!!! I am now leaning toward eye bath. Gross! I have touched them and everything! Eeeeewwwww!
    11. jonima jonima, 11 years ago
I agree with JayHow. An eye wash would hold more liquid.
    12. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
Okay, I can see that (haha).
    13. Manikin Manikin, 11 years ago
No on eye wash ,but I like Phil's idea a chin rest :-)
    14. Roycroftbooksfromme1, 11 years ago

Seriously Eye, what are you talking about? They were part of a metric ton of Vintage Christmas I got at an estate sale. In fact went back...twice! Really don't know what they are...we back to the eye thing!
    20. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
They were a dime, thought they were interesting enough and well worth the conversation
    21. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
Plus I bought two big boxes of vintage Christmas, most of which I plan on deconstructing and trying to craft some projects with the kiddos. Slightly scared because I stink at crafts and don't want to mess up the vintage.
    22. SEAN68 SEAN68, 11 years ago
Amber I like these , im glad you went back to get them as well!
    23. SEAN68 SEAN68, 11 years ago
and they are beautiful and interesting!
    24. Manikin Manikin, 11 years ago
I think little tiny bird baths shaped like old fashioned bathtubs on a pedestal :-) I doubt anything medical :-) Amber you just want us all to go crazy LOL . Did you say they were in Christmas stuff in a box ?
    25. jonima jonima, 11 years ago
Are they flexible at all, or are they hard plastic?
    26. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
No, they were in a random box at a huge estate sale. The woman had three floors stuffed with cool stuff. She sewed, and had a real talent for clever crafts. Plus she raised bees! It was great. I wanted to go back a third time
    27. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
So an egg would have to lie on its side. Too small for Barbie. Not enough "cup" for an eye bath...
    28. jonima jonima, 11 years ago
Does it hold more than a tablespoon or two of liquid? Maybe a medicine cup thing for taking liquid medicine?
    29. SEAN68 SEAN68, 11 years ago
      FOR THE EAR!
    30. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
I would say 2 tablespoons. Wouldn't an ear dispenser need a narrow pour?
    31. jonima jonima, 11 years ago
Eye, I was thinking a spoon rest as well until AmberRose said the size of it. Seems too small after that.
    32. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
I do understand the physical aspects but can't figure out would balance on it.
    33. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
Too small and too tall for a spoon
    34. SEAN68 SEAN68, 11 years ago
Amber :) scotty says they hard boiled egg holders, he has seen these same ones in movies!
    35. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago

      Weebles = 1970s Roly-Poly (egg-shaped) toy by Hasbro
sorry for type: cha9r = chair
    38. Hunter Hunter, 11 years ago
sorry, I'm late to this conversation BUT vintage christmas + weird plastic pedestals = fancy ornament display stands? For some sort of beautiful blown glass decoration?
    39. Hunter Hunter, 11 years ago
Or maybe one of those decorative ostrich eggs that's been hollowed out and has a little diorama inside??
    40. Zowie Zowie, 11 years ago
I thought a chair might be for small people like me. They look comfortable
    41. Zowie Zowie, 11 years ago
It would fit snug around the eye if that size, better then the other style. Have a safe & happy Christmas & New Year to all of my CW friends also I'm really happy I meet so to speak you all.

      Finally... The mystery is solved...
    44. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
Tripped over the answer while looking for something else! Now I want to go back in time and see if the S&P bals were opinion that junk box!
    45. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
Gotta figure out where I put those bases...they frustrated me so I tossed them in a random box "in the garage". There are about 50 boxes out there...
    46. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
Well the anti-hoarder season doesn't start until May and I havebeen told quite clearly that my need to de-hoard is a requirement. All good it's fun plus I jumped to my West German boyfriends as my favorite to collect so I have a lot of Scandinavian glass going out. Apparently I really love to focus on something then something else catches my eye...
