Found in my grandparents basement. About a foot tall. 642 is he only imprint on the figurine. Help!

A young Jesus figure , he appears to be made of chalkware is he ?
He appears to be chalkware or plaster. Besides the 642, there are no other markings on the figure

Now how do I identify who made it and what the 642 means? I cannot seem to find that at all but found some other sites referring to 642 as 18th century stamping
It is not 18th century they would have used wood in the 1700's . I would say early 1900's and made in Italy . It probably had a paper label on bottom of base just saying made in Italy . Most of these were made for import . The number may drive you crazy as companies that made anything from dolls to statues to figurines ect could have used this number .
