8" Humming Spinning Top - LBZ Tin with plastic handle and plastic base.

Manufacturer LBZ (Lorenz Bolz of Zirndorf, Germany), I think this could be 1960's as earlier ones had wooden handles etc.

    Printed on the top-side.
    LBZ
    MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY
POUR FRANCE : CONFORMITE AUX NORMES GARANTIE PAR L'IMPORTATEUR

It is working and hums a continuous tone when spun fast.

History of LBZ (BOLZ – traditional toys since 1880) available by researching on the web.

I bought it for £2 or £3 and sold it to a friend who knew someone (her grandson) who would like it.

I had a similar top when I was very young and remember breaking it (one of my earliest memories).
