    Smoot holman hanging light fixture. Atleast 24 inches around. Metal. Very retro looking. I would love any/all information on this piece. It's very large, clean look white metal lamp.

      My grade school had these lamps. The Smoot-Holman company was based in Inglewood, CA. The design/manufacture of these dates to the late 1950's or early 1960's. On the one hand, I wish I had one, but since my wife hates the look, and I have nowhere good to put it, I'll just have to remember them as a part of my blissful childhood years. Inglewood is just south of Los Angeles, next to Hawthorne, which is where my grandmother lived.

      LOL I just noticed most of what I posted was on the label in the picture! What did you want to know besides that they were popular in schools and for plant-floor lighting of the 1960's era?
