Beer glass 0,4 liter. Design Karin Elvy ( Eriksson ) for Skrufs glassworks in 2013. Exclusively designed in 1581 copies for the Czech brewery Krusovice, with proven manufacturing since 1581. Therefore the specific number 1581 glass manufactured. Krusovice is the only brewery in the Czech Republic which had been owned by the Royal Czech family, why the royal crown in the logo. The order is freshly made and delivered, and this glass is Skrufs own samples that I had to borrow home to photograph.

Skrufs Glassworks invests in clean and simple design and besides Karin Elvy, among others the well-known Råman is engaged as a designer. She designs now for Skruf for a second period, after the interlude of 10 years at Orrefors. Orrefors glassworks was definitely down in the summer 2013 and the premises have been taken over by a design company that will use them as stoc . But Skruf glasworks (with about 10 employes) lives on and has a lot of orders at the moment. In contrast to the brand company Orrefors Kosta Boda (which now has 70 % of production outside Sweden and highly mechanized manufacturing), glassworks in Skruv refuses adding production abroad. Instead, the emphasis is strongly on purely domestic craft , without machines .

Now this is a revelation! What news! And no Czech company was chosen? A real boost for the Skrufs group. Nice shape too! Just 1581? Thanks again REBESSIN!

Thanks vetraio! The brewery says they wanted to let the Czech beer tradition meet the Swedish glass crafts tradition. They wanted a limited series and a clean crafts made glass. And then Swedish glass craft have good reputation, they turned here. Skruf was a good fit because it has a fine tradition of high quality dinnerware and use glass in pure craftsmanship.

Hooray for Skruf!!! Ans it's great learning abour Ingegerd Raman. As i told you before, she was one of the really few ones whose work I liked at Orrefors.

Yes austro, I'm glad Råman came back for Skruf too! And their refusing production abroad and with machines. Målerås has the same philosophy.

I have another thing to say: Michale Axenbrandt (one of the owner of Studioglass Strömbergshyttan) has recently started up production together with hos colaborator in studioglass Strömbergshyttan Leif Perssons son, Fredrik Persson. The two rent Målerås hut on the weekends, and they'll start producing, among other things my sister's (Ulla-Carin Bergqvists) glass of Studio Glass in time. Studio Glass Bergdala no longer have a contract with my sister. They have broken the contract with her but continued to manufacture her products, and Ulla-Carin has now hired a lawyer to sort it all out. But the worst part is that Bergdalas Chinese owners have started to copy Målerås glass in their glass factory in China, and also Målerås has hired lawyers to bring an end to the misery.
