This tea service belonged to my Mother who passed away in 2009. The carton is original and the dust that is evident on the surface can be removed. This set has been untouched for over 60 years. I'm interested in learning more history and information about this set.
Beautiful Mickey Mouse Childs tea set . I would say it is marked either Japan or Occupied Japan on bottom . It is called Lusterware . I would say 1940's era give or take a year or two . What a great set !
The Movie was made in 1928 I rather doubt the set came out same year . We have some Mickey experts on CW that can add to or change my thought . Welcome to CW
Not sure when it came out but the 1928 date is printed on the bottom of each piece.
Also, my Mother received this around the age of 5 and she was born in 1926. I don't think this would have been a gift to a 14+ year old girl.
These were common in 30's also . The clue is it is stamped Occupied Japan or or Just Japan . That was my give or take a year or 2 . It would make sense that Movie came out in 1928 it would show that date . What else does bottom say and does Pitcher say Walt Disney on bottom ?
