Many shakers of the Victorian Era that were decorated, were decorated like little works of art. These pieces with the Bird decorations are just that.
On the left is a massive sugar shaker (6 1/4 inchs tall!) in cranberry I just picked up this week. It has a really nice two piece top that is silverplated. It may be Mt Washington but have no proof for sure.
Center is a Mt Washington mustard jar with s similar decoration.
Right is a blue shaker that may be European and has a Honeycomb pattern in the glass.
Shakers with this type of decoration is very popular and usually have to pay for them when they show up.
Oh my, how lovely.
Thanks!
You're very welcome. They are definitely eye catchers.
I try to pick them up when I can but they dont show up too often. I just got the cranberry sugar shaker on ebay
All three are great, very vibrant!!
Going to the Eastern antique show in Carlisle, Pa next week, its what is left of the old Harrisburg, Pa glass show and hope to find maybe another, you never know.
I wish you luck and safe travels Scott.
Thanks,Its not too bad about 3 hours from here. Know a few dealers there for years so will see them too.
