    I would like to get some info on this old lighter, It was my Dads, and is not for sale. Just curious for conversation purposes. Its outer sheild moves up and down and moves the wick cover over. It has an emblem on both sides - like a family sheild, with a flame coming out the top--Thanks for the information !!!! - John

      I have a very similar one and mine works. I tryed to add a photo. I was told this type of liter were used during the time of World war One and known as Trench Lighters but don't quote me.

      It is a Bowers lighter, it was made in Michigan Kalamazoo, It sells on Ebay for about $ 12-$ 30.
