I have no idea what possessed me to buy this, I guess it must have been the Deco style as well as the color. It's pretty large (1" x 2 1/4"), and a bit heavy. All the stones are there, and the design is cool. I'm thinking late 30's? There are no markings that I can find, and it appears to be Pot Metal. Still cool though!
stunning!!! very nice upstate!
Classic Art Deco red paste brooch set into pot metal. Good eye!
Thanks Sean and Moonstonelover! I didn't realize it was a classic when I got it!
You are most welcome! The stones are called French cut and are one of my favourite cuts in stones :)

Thanks again! It certainly does make a statement!
Your very welcome upstate!
It's stunning... I love the deco style and the color. You have great taste my friend.
Thanks for all the comments and loves! It's always nice to get your opinion backed up!!!
Your very welcome buddy!
why are you unsure as to why you bought it? I dont think anyone could walk on by...lol
Its beautiful. The style might be thirties but the colours strike me as earlier....
However if I look at the clasp it makes me feel it could possibly be 50's. A lot of 50's designs were inspired by the art deco, art nouveau and Edwardian times...my suggestion, do some good research. Your clasp is always the clue...the design can be old but rarely will they design the clasp from the same period....stunning though no matter when it was born....
Thank you so much for sharing...
Thanks Anne. I only said that because this is not normally the type of jewelry I get. I'll definitely research the clasp, and see what I come up with. Thanks for the info!
