Coconut Shell Piggy Banks

These coconut shell piggy banks belonged to me and my sister, there was a third one but I think that is lost. They were bought in Penang, Malaysia on one of our school holidays and are about 30+ years old now.

They are so kitsch and in this time and age, probably look quite politically incorrect as I think they depict pickaninnies. But in the 80s, life may have been simpler and in Malaysia, no one took offence and probably found them rather cute.
