Hello there, in my constant hunts, I found and purchased these gorgeous end tables. I absolutely love them. then are wood with two small drawers, I'm assuming Hollywood regency era, the bamboo legs are awesome. they are both on small original wheels. They are light blue and tan wood and I love them. Imay not be able to keep however, and wanted to know if one of you experts could Please provide me with more information and detail for my own knowledge. I am always learning, but I know what I like!! ANy input would be much appreciate. I am posting two other pieces for any and all input and edification you can provide. I think Hollywood Regency. My mom took one for her art supplies and I am using one for files and my computer stuff. Love! Thanks all!
HI everyone knowledgeable and lovers of design and beautiful things. I LOVE these two side tables I just acquired. The dowers are very slim and they are both on tiny wheels ghat roll perfectly, the sides are bamboo design, which is making me thing these are mid century/Hollywood Regency U.S.? Sorry for the crap pictures, lighting was terrible. Has anyone seen anything like these before and would you kindly help me identify the period, origin, whatever you can? I looked briefly for markings, but need better light. They are in a very dark subterranean storage space at the moment. Any input would be so so appreciated!!
Hey guys, I'm thinking Hollywood Regency, they're wood, and tiny original wheels, LOVE THESE. ANy input from anyone??
A word of advice, never mention ebay or selling in your posts as you are unlikely to get any help.
Lot's of us here myself included have helped out people in the past with knowledge or research on an item only to find out later that the item is being sold.
Also make sure that you have the best pictures possible, as people will not take the time if the picture don't provide detail.
Cheers
right, good point. I don't really want to sell my treasures, just sometimes because of downsizing storage. Thank you though. WOn't happen again. And yes, will take much better pictures. Thanks for your help. Do you like these nightstands? I LOVE them. I'm using one as a computer table and my mom has the other for her art supplies. Hollywood Regency, no?
Do you own anything that you know what it is? Or do you see this site as free research? You are wearing out your welcome quickly.
yes, I own plenty that I know well. I'm sorry to have offended you so terribly that you'd write such a comment. I guess I shouldn't feel free to consider myself a part of this community and site that I love, huh?
Feel free to do what you will because I feel free to state my opinion. As stated above as a hint, READ THE RULES!
Yes, I just did, my opinion is that cranky crotchety old farts should keep their opinions to themselves
walksoftly, thanks for your advice and I hope I didn't offend you. I am not selling any of the other items, if I do post them, as it seems I am already wearing out my welcome with 12 items and such a desire to be part of the community and treasure everyone's expertise and am eager to grow and learn. I guess that offends some.
What offends folks is helping posters with a commercial venture (SELLING).
Most here are willing to help and provide free assistance, if the desire is to learn and NOT make a buck.
Your "in case I put them on ebay" will cause many, me included, to NOT assist.
scott
It takes more than that to offend me.
Post a few of the items from your collection that you treasure & know well.
We may learn something from you.
This crotchey old fart earned the right to his opinion by fighting for YOUR right to do so. NEVER tell a veteran to keep their opinion to themselves.
I didn't read that in the rules
totally get it and I'm not selling them! so sorry.
Don't be mad..........be right. You said give me time and I will be as smart as you.....smart starts with reading and understanding and appreciating what is being done for you and not abusing it.
Because you only kiss up to certain faces. That isn't a difficult question.
Hi Tloves, I agree with Phil in that they seem to be a purposeful type of furniture. Meaning that they were for a hospital, office...something. I worry that Hollywood Regency has become the new Art Deco...over used and thrown at anything. Not saying that they aren't but...
How does the paint look? Original? I worry repainted. I keep having 30s pop in my brain.
As to people getting worked up regarding doing work for sellers...well lots of folk abuse the system. I never got that vibe from you.
Well T scoot a little closer with that camera next post. Pull a drawer out and get a picture of the dovetails or lack there of. Sometimes the back tells more of the story than the front. The elevation of the pieces can also date a piece. Generally ,Chair seats got taller ,sideboards got shorter, beds got longer and lower to the floor.
