Hi there, here's another gorgeous deco mirrored piece I picked up. Please forgive the photo quality, they are in a subbasement storage with terrible light. This is allirrored and deco, I believe, probably french. Very sleek, no drawer pulls, it is gilded and silver, with some chips, top part of glass is good a bit on right side, but only adds to character of piece in my opinion, so sleek and delicate. Can anyone please please give me some input about it, style, period, origin, materials, anything you may know? Deco? Art Nouvous? Hollywood regency? French? Would be ever so grateful. I love it, and am grateful to you guys for providing me with more knowledge. I am posting ne more piece, and would love the help there too. Thanks to all in advance!

I think French too, blunderbuss, but then again maybe Venetian??? Midcentury deco, hollywood regency? earlier? What do you think?
    5. SEAN68 SEAN68, 11 years ago
your very welcome TlovesS:) I also thinking French inbetween Nouveau and art deco .more of a transition.

i was thinking french too, but the legs, the box pattern at ten d of legs made me think… maybe Venetian? not sure. What years would you think? Thanks so much for loving the piece too. I'm so excited about it!

Are there any markings underneath? (Like "MADE IN CHINA" etc)
    11. TlovesS TlovesS, 11 years ago
Lol blunderbuss, if they said made in china, I wouldn't be posting!!!! I need to check further tomorrow. I had help carrying the pieces to this storage space and I was very indebted so I didn't much time to really take better photos or inspect as thoroughly. It's also very dark in there. Will check for markings tomorrow and take additional pics, bring more light. Would love your take on the end tables on wheels as well. Did you guys see those?

I was just thinking of a marking that everybody is familiar with & a joke. A close-up of corner joints would be great from underneath. A flash hardly helps with pics of glass. I'm no expert on style or period but have hand reproduced antique furniture a bit & may can tell you something about age by visible joints. A guess anyway. Would be nice to know type of wood as this is hard to tell from pics.(Amer. maple is diff. from European for example).

yes, I am terrible with IDing wood, especially when treated. I will take more photos, will be tough because of light, but I'll bring some flashlights and try my best at being a gaffer. Joints are great idea. Thanks again! No one's looks at my side tables with wheels. I think they're fantastic… I guess I am onle one those!!

Very beautiful. Still regret not buying the green mirror drum table I saw years ago here in town from the 40's also. Cannot remember now if it was for sale as I bought something else from the lady. As for your desk here it reminds me of a Marlene Dietrich photo of her mirrored desk in an old photo of her home. I love the photos as they look green the mirrors and the dusty softness of the pics is wonderful.
