It was a GREAT weekend for picking. Got a lot of great stuff including this stunning vanity! Apparently it is disputed whether it was designed by Milo Baughman or Edward Wormley. It looks a bit more Baughman to me. What do you think? The lady I purchased this from had painted the top (Heartbreaking. I know.) I'm thinking of stripping the top and trying to match the elm stain. Your thoughts? Below is the only info I could find on the web. Any additional info would totally rock.
"Vintage 1950s elm vanity desk by Drexel. Part of the “Today’s Living” collection. Attributed to Milo Baughman. The true designer is disputed. Some say Baughman some say Edward Wormley. The Hallmarks of this design most closely resemble Baughman’s “Perspective” line for Drexel. Storage on the left and right sides of the unit. Back side is finished. Top panel lifts to reveal a compartment and propped mirror."
Yes, please strip and fix it! Great find Mighty Hunter!
LOL Thanks AmberRose
Cool piece! It looks great in that room with the nice hardwood floors...
Thanks! That is in my sisters house. I took it over there because I thought she might want this piece but it looks like we will not be keeping this one.
