Actually, the title is "Johnny and the Three Goats". Is it intact? How many pages? My Bookhouse was a book full of stories, so this is one of those stories from that book.
Here's My Bookhouse, which was published in 1920.

There are no numbers on the pages but i counted 30 pages. the thread in the binder has broke but it appears all the pages are there. Also the inner leaf has the owners name and address in pencil but no dates any where.
3o pages and it's just the one short story? Must not be many words on each page! It's likely 1920's and probably came in a set with other individual stories from the original book (My Bookhouse). I will see if I can turn up anything else.
Aha! Mystery Solved. It dates to 1926 when "Johnny and the Three Goasts" and "The Little Brown Duck Shingebiss" came as miniature books inside a little wooden house. Here is a reference to it: http://www.iberlibro.com/BOOKHOUSE-MINIATURE-HOUSE-BOOK-MILLER-OLIVE/1541673038/bd
If you find the other miniature book, and their wooden house you will have a treasure!
Oops, the miniature house was a metal version of the wooden house originally made for the normal size set of books.
Sorry, last thought - I am sure originally there were more than just 2 miniature books.
Thanks SMD you have helped. I don't know what to do with this as I am not a collector. Just one of the things in find in boxes at estate sales. Thanks again,Chris
Well I know of a home for it. <wink>
You're welcome. I have loved vintage and antique children's books since I was a child. Finding one book in a series is fun, because then you go on a hunt for more books in that series.
SMD Upon closer inspection there is a second Story in this book titled The Ogre That Played Jackstraws by David Starr Jordan. The preceding page says A Story from volume three of My Bookhouse. Learn more if i look closer.
Yes, I read about the second story in the book on that on the last webpage link that I posted. It's neat! I will bet you that somewhere at that estates sale there were others in the series.
I noticed that my posting was removed. Did you receive my last email? Do you know where copies of these books can be located if you don't wish to part with yours?
No. I have been looking for some reference as to price but haven"t found any yet. Make a reasonable offer and i will give it all consideration.
Hi! Did you sell the miniature Mybookhouse book? I have the miniature house it goes in and would be interested in buying the book from you.
Other miniature My Bookhouse books are:
The little engine that could (also includes Try again, A Christmas song at sea,
Wee robin's Christmas song and Snow), 'a special tiny Christmas book'.
Little pictures of Japan, 'the third of our Tiny Books containing stories taken from My Bookhouse'.
I also would be interested in other miniature My Bookhouse books
Still looking for the original mini books for metal my bookhouse. Please email if you have information.
Hi, I discovered this thread after years of searching off and on. Years ago I refurbished wooden boxes and created laptop desk with them as gifts. I purchased a wonderful old box at an auction years ago. I discovered in the box five of the miniature Bookhouse books. I have yet to find out their monetary worth.
To Rassie57:
Could you give a list of the 5 titles you found?
After years of searching I now have the five miniature books and the
Miniature metal my bookhouse. Bruce
