One of the many lines of glass that Mt Washington created was a line called Colonial Ware. Its a milk glass opalware with a gold decoration and a shading of a pink coloring (when it comes to these shakers).
Typical Colonial Ware has flowers and colonial style figures on them, hence the name.
I find these pieces very rare and I myself have only seen a couple which are pictured above. They have a red stamp on the bottom which is a wreath with a crown in the middle. Below is a number which I would assume is a pattern number.
In the case of the pieces above, the one on the left is 2039 and the one on the right is 2038.
They were made for a two piece top and the one on the left may be original, however Mt Washington usually have a much fancier top for their sugar shakers. The one on the right is not the original top.
Note: On the second shaker, I first thought that the pink areas were wear of the gilt. However thinking about it the randomness of the pink shading in between the gilt areas suggests that is not the case in my mind.
Looking at the first shaker, the pink shading is on the bottom, so its my conclusion that its original and not wear.
