I m really proud I found this one. I bought it a few weeks ago from a friend of mine. She is more interested in old glass and pottery, and she sure has good taste! When I saw she sold this brooch I just had to have it.
Its definatly Amsterdam School, though I m sure you guys would think its Arts and Crafts.
The Amsterdam School (Dutch: Amsterdamse School) is a style of architecture that arose from 1910 through about 1930 in The Netherlands. The Amsterdam School movement is part of international Expressionist architecture.
Of course, it wasn't only buildings, they did some jewelry and other crafts too.
So this brooch is white metal and (I think chrysophase) and it dates from the twenties. It has a hammered effect on the front and it has a tube hinge and C-clasp.
I hope you enjoy it!
