Any help to identify this watch, would be awesome.

The pocket watch was made in 1889. Do you see any marks on the case saying whether it is 18K, 14K, 12K gold etc? The glass is cracked, but that can be replaced without hurting the value. I believe the C.W.C Co is the Crescent Watch Case Company. Hope this info leads you in the right direction! It's a gorgeous watch.

The crescent moon and star trade mark tells you that the case is gold filled. They guaranteed their gold filled cases for 20 years.

lol yeah, crystal... I get all technical sometimes :)

A long time ago I bought a boxed lot of crystals from eBay. I gave them to my watch repair guy, because that the kinda nice gal I am. heehee. Find a good repair man in your area, they will have a better idea of where to get a replacement. Don't replace it with plastic!

Here's a link that'll give you all kinds of info on your watch. Just put the serial number from the movement, not the case, into the little box and away you go. Take some time and look around. It's a great website: http://www.nawcc-info.org/walthamdb/LookupSN.asp

      Thank you Tiki and AR8,
what is cracked is the face of the watch, there was no glass covering the numbers. I think that is what you mean.

I am laughing at the warranty of "gold filled for 20 years", oh, man this has lasted 122 years.

Curious? Is this a common watch from that period?

Thank you so much for your help.

You are correct AR8, crystal missing and the "dial face" is cracked.

Not sure what to do with it. I feel awful to put it away without others to enjoy.
      Thank you,again

Well, do like I do with my old watches, display them. Just because it's not worth a million bucks doesn't mean it's not beautiful. You can find display cases for watches like yours. I have a little glass dome with a hook at the top that I suspend mine from. Enjoy it's beauty and history!
