This is an 1898 Copper Weathervane Eagle with Brass Directionals and the original roof mount. This weathervane was purchased by Frank June in Chicago, IL and was later put on the first completed building on Lake Cora Development in Paw Paw, MI in 1903. I have since owned the vane for the last 15 yrs.

As far as I know there aren't any identifiable markings.

Its a beautiful piece. Are there people that can appraise such a piece? If anyone knows feel free to contact me.

This probably is not the right forum for appraisal of this piece, it's pretty high up the ladder, importance wise. I might suggest you contact one of the Keno brothers of Road Show fame. Leigh and Leslie should have contact information somewhere on the Internet. They should be able to steer you in the right direction.

Thanks for the help YardSaleDave. Unfortunately I did contact Leigh Keno firm and it went nowhere. With the way things are I might have to let my piece go now anyhow.

I reside in Michigan, for the last 15 years I've had inside because I've moved and had done work on my previous home. Shoot me an email jack_wilkens@yahoo.com
