One of the reasons I dont buy much jewelry online is because people often don't know what they have. I also think its more of a thrill to spot a treasure for 1 euro at a flea market. :-)
I bought this necklace a few years ago and the seller was sure its bakelite. But when I got it by mail I immediatly noticed it isnt.
The seller was really a sweet person, I liked the beads, and I really didn't pay much so I just kept the necklace but I let her know it wasn 't bakelite. In the first picture I wrapped it two times around the doll (you can see some dust on it too). Its really long and its surprisingly heavy.
In the second picture you can see the beads have air bubbles inside them.
Maybe one day I might change it into a cherry necklace. Or who knows, maybe if my luck with jewelry stays I might find the real deal!
The second necklace I show you was a flea market find. I think I didn't do bad bringing it home for 1 euro.
I think both necklaces could be the same material.
It could be lucite. What do you think?
Thank you Freiheit, DrFluffy, aghcollect and vetraio for loving my necklaces
Hey val, thank you for your comments. Indeed its so sad there are a lot of bad sellers around on ebay. I have had more luck finding bakelite on flea markets these days. Its not anything fancy I find, but the plain and simple jewelry items are good enough for me. Anything bakelite makes me happy.
