My Expectation....Bust

My uncle found this bust in an old trunk in the corner of his barn. He said it always "creeped him out" when he was little. He said he didn't know where it came from or anything else about it. When he gave it to me, it was a dull, rusty color. It reminds me of the old mermaids that you see on the front bow of pirate ships. She is very beautiful and her dress is ornate with flowers, ribbons and a bird. The bust is plaster, I think. The bust and pedestal are one piece and has the word "Expectation" on a banner just under the figure on the front. The artist signature is "A. Carli". The copyright information on the back of the pedestal says "Copyright 1906 by The Boston Plastic Art Co. Boston, Mass".
Finally, there is a round paper sticker that has this information stamped on it," The Boston Plastic Art Co., Cost......Red, Price......300, No.....144".

I would love to know anything about this piece including any history attached to it, why the word "Expectation", where it might have come from or anything else you can help me with. Thanks.
