I bought this piece from an antique shop that was going out of business. I had to have it because I was just struck by it's beauty and great irridescent color. The lady I bought it from didn't know much about it other than she said it was a carnival glass piece. It has gorgeous marigold color with great shine and smoothness on the front of the piece. The underside of it appears less smooth but very shimmery like glitter. It has a few small nicks or scrapes on the bottom from wear over the years but other than that, it is a lovely piece. It measures about 14" x 16" and is shaped like an oak leaf, I believe. It even has the veins of the leaf present. It's beautifully crafted. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find anything or any information about the piece. I have searched and searched the internet and also asked several antique dealers. No one can tell me anything about it. There is no makers mark or any kind of mark giving me a hint of who made it or when. I would love to know what kind of piece I have, who made it, and around what year it was made. Even if it's not worth anything in the world of antiques/carnival glass, it would mean a lot to me to know about this magnificent piece that I fell in love with. If anyone knows anything about it or has seen others like it, please let me know. I would appreciate any help.
Sincerely,
Lisa H.
