Just Wondering if anyone knows much about this pic. My Mother picked it up this summer at a garage sale and i thought it might be worth something. We could use any advise as to the value or history thank you. the bottom says "copyright secured 1883 by marlin yauch"
Chromolithograph by Marlin Yauch, German. Made a few Religous Prinst back in the late 19th Century. Earth & Water was another chromolithograph. Value at Auction $75.00-$100.00 Dave
Thank You. This was very helpfull.
I have 2 posters just like this made by Gies and Co. NY more than a 100 years ago. (http://www.meibohmfinearts.com/artistBio.aspx?ID=920)
I asked Gary Borkan of rare-posters.com and he said its a nice poster but not much marketable nowadays. Personally, it is priceless and is a nice poster that I will keep and maybe linen-back in the future.
I have two other Marlin Yauch chromolithographs I have received from my grandmother. They are both in German. If you are interested in selling this, please email me.
I have the 23rd psalms and another which shows the lost son, the stoneing etc this has marlin yauch's name on it, the 23 psalms has G.H. DUHSTUN,LIYH Buffalo Ny
i have the german version of this picture. does anyone know the value of it so i can sell it for a fair price.
I'm looking for something very similar. It looks almost exactly the same, but I think it just has The Lord's Prayer and not 10 Commandments. I have a poor photo of it here: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/820/imag0204g.jpg/
if anyone can aid me in finding one for sale it would be much appreciated!

I have the 23rd pslams and also a print of stories, Mary setting at jesus feet , Samuel gts called, Ruths wheat, the good samaritan, Abraham and lot the stoneing etc.. 1882 marin yauch. They are printed in German and i would appreciate some information on these. thank you Sheila (boobooannie)
I have this pic in a vintage frame with a wood backing.I am a picker & don't know where I picked it. I thought it would be worth more than the 75-100 auction value. Appreciate all the other info.
Ron-- post yours to get an assessment of your actual print.
However, I'd say Dizzy Dave's valuation was accurate and maybe even a little generous.

Ron, I have the same print that I posted months ago. It hangs in the spare bedroom.
I watched a documentary of a Medal Of Honor recipient from WW2, his name was Desmond T. Doss. You can watch the trailer on youtube. Why I mention this, this picture played such a hugh part in his life and one of the reasons he refused to ever touch a gun. He was a medic but never carried a gun, and save so many lives. ----I loved the picture from seeing it in the documentary, but said to myself, " I will never be able to find that picture, Well, we to good well this morning, and guess what I got for 20.oo dollars? Yep, and with a costume made frame, Praise the lord. I think especially after watching this documentary and how I was so moved by this mans faith, that this picture is priceless to me.
I have this picture. I bought it at an antique shop in 1979. It is mounted on a wood backing and in a old gold frame.I paid $125.00 for it back then. My pic does not have "copyright secured 1883 by Marlin Yauch" on the bottom. All it as on the bottom right corner is "Maerz Lith Co, Buffalo, NY". Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I have this poster. It has to be repaired/restored. I'm wondering how much I should spend on it's restoration? Does anyone know what is reasonable? It has water damage and a corner is torn off, but I have it.
I just bought one similar to this that I think might predate this. It has "Gies & Co. Buffalo NY" on it and "Published by S.T. BUCK MILTON PA" but the most interesting is " Entered According to Act of Congress in the year 1871 by M. Yauck, 18 University Av Rochester NY in the office of the librarian of Congress at Washington"
Mine also does not have the 10 Commandments and is in a wood back frame - some water damage
I have the exact one and would like to sell it, looks exactly like the one pictured. It has been in my family for over 80 years
Just picked up the Lord's Prayer today at an action with the 10 commandments. Copyright 1882 by vanduzee bros. I paid 21. This is mounted on a wood backing as well. A beautiful piece.
By the way it was in a house fire and was the only item not burned. Little to no damage.
I just purchased this pic at a garage sale for $5 .I see comments here that says copy right 1883 but mine says copy right 1901 .Any idea what this may be worth? Not looking to sale just curious .Thanks
