It is a bamboo book they were a special, but widely-used form of book used before the Han Dynasty when paper was (reinvented) invented duiring late East Han Dynasty by a eunuch named Cai Lun. Paper was unpopular due to the high cost at the time. Hence, for the sake of economy and practicality, bamboo-made books were still the mainstream at that time.

This being a modern reproduction, of course.

Hello Lovely, hmmmm...so many options here. There are any books of Buddha. There are parables...basically stories or learning...I read them to my kiddos...which I am guessing (guessing!) here. Think it looks like Chinese writing but...

"The word swastika came from the Sanskrit word svastika, meaning any lucky or auspicious object, and in particular a mark made on persons and things to denote auspiciousness, or any piece of luck or well-being."
For Buddhism it is a graphical representation of eternity
The symbol has been used by many cultures for thousands of years, but took on a darker tone in the right hand version adopted by the Nazi Party in the 1920's.
