My uncle was attending the U.S. Navel Academy in the 1950. On one of his visits home he brought me this Steiff Navy Goat, it has had a place of prominence in my house ever since. At 64 and around 50 years later I am beginning to wonder how much it's worth?
there is one on ebay right now-made 1957 $250.00, looks similiar

What you have here is Steiff's Navy goat. It is actually one of three Navy goats Steiff designed. This one is lovely and the most "common" of the three, but it is still quite rare. It was made from 1957-1960 in 15 and 25 cm, and the measurement refers to the height of the item. He is standing, made of mohair, and was made with white and black or green and black google-style eyes. He has felt horns and a blue felt blanket with a yellow colored N.
In terms of value, something is worth what someone will pay. Assuming it is in very good to excellent condition, with all of its detailing and no rips, weak spots, thinning, odors, or structural damage - and at least one form of Steiff ID- you may be able to get in the $200-400 range for it. If it is like new with all ID and eartag, maybe as high as $500, especially to a Navy affiliated Steiff collector.
Hello,
Do you still have this stuffed animal? Thanks and be blessed.
