I bought this pendant at another flea market. My boyfriend didn't like it but my girls just love it! Its purple and shiny so its exactly their taste.
Its about 2cm high. Its an aurora borealis rhinestone with a 835 silver setting.
The aurora borealis finish was invented in the mid fifties by Swarovski. It was named after the northern light. So I m sure it was made after '55.
AB is so hard to capture! Its in good condition but in my pic it looks horrible. So please excuse me my bad photographs.
However, I hope you like it.
Beautiful ! I remember my mother telling me to buy a few pieces years back and said they would someday be worth something . I love them but I think of my Mom when ever I see them:-) You did good at capturing color I always get a washed out look when I try to photo them . Very nice post !
Manikin, thank you for your kind words!
Thank you Manikin and vetraio for loving my ab pendant
When I first started to collect costume pieces, I didn't like ab - but it kind of grew on me. Now I feel they have some magic; I can imagine wearing them on a night out! I was wearing a pin with ab the other day and a little girl came to me and said “I like those glittery things!” Needless to say that this made my day!
I like your piece too:)
Freiheit, valentino, inky, thank you so much for your nice comments and for loving my pendant.
Freiheit, what a nice story. I m sure all children really love ab.
It grew on me too!
Thanks, Newtimes:)
