Just found and bought this unique 24" two-sided button Lollipop Sign. Can't seem to find another example on the internet. There are no maufacturers narks anywhere on the buttons or the base that I can find. Any help in dating and its history would be appreciated. Thank You, Tom

I think it's a marriage made in heaven! The 2 buttons (1950's) must have been modified, notched on the bottoms to fit on that stand. Lollipop signs typically have a bracket frame encircling a flat sign. I've seen them and the school policeman sign attached to this type of stand. I can't say I've ever seen two buttons displayed in this fashion. Usually they were attached flat on a wall or storefront. I'm pretty sure somebody got creative in joining the stand and buttons. I'll be interested to hear what the other Coke sign lovers have to say. The buttons look to be authentic. Your sign is definitely an eye catcher.

I'd have to agree with Daddy_Nobucks on the marriage but I think it looks great together.

Thank you for your responses. Intersestingly enough, I posed the same question to Coca Cola Collectors Club officials and they just responded this evening:
"...the double sided 24 inch Lollipop sign was made throughout the mid 1950's to early 1960's. Most of these signs could be dated on the actual button, look for some markings with AM followed by some numbers usually 2 or 3. Also most of these buttons are porcelain ones since they held up well being used outdoors. The cast iron base is usually silver and would be similar to the used on the policeman."

I can't find any manufacturers markings but everything else seems to fit.

Let us know if you can find another example or it in a collector's book. I'm not having any luck...

Great detective work! Yours is in a lot nicer condition.

Thank You....the porcelain is perfect on one side and has two small blemishes on the reverse button. The base and frame have no rust but the base has been repainted silver and the raised logo is not painted red as was originally.

Well I got curious today so I removed one of the buttons to see how they were attached. Definetly a factory produced infrastructure...not home made. Not many lay people can do galvanized welding. Now to get a date on it...that is the challenge

Check out this listing for a 1951 Ad Handbook. Take a look at the last picture.

Daddy-N.... you hit the nail right on the head! Thats it on the last page of the booklet. It confirms one of my suspicions.... that there is a rectangular advertising panel attached to the metal pole. It has two previously unexplained 3/8 inch holes which are located exactly where the sign frame would attach. Thank you so very much...I am checking the eBay posting to try and win the book.
