Found one day out garage saling. I've been looking around this morning on the internet and if I'm right this is one of the early pieces that were made between 1901-1909. Not sure what this was used for. Is it a tea pot or for coffee or what was it's purpose? Is it from the time that I listed? There is a p-30 on it and they didn't say anything about that.
Thanks chevy59
Usually when the spout is high it is a chocolate pot. The design looks Art Nouveau which fits that time period.
Thank you for the info, but why is it called a chocolate pot. What did they serve out of it?
Hot chocolate! It was very popular. If you Google Chocolate Set you will see lots.
Thank you again for the info DecorativeDishes.net

Wow, what a small world, you live just a hop, skip and jump from me my fellow collector...Greetings from the WS (Rockville and Girlschool)
Very nice chocolate pot Official! I found some info when I was looking for chocolate pots similar to mine that I'd thought I'd share with you...
Chocolate Pots started in the late 1800's when packaged chocolate bars weren't available. In those days it was an afternoon "daily" to visit one friend or another for a cup of hot chocolate and socializing. When the first chocolate bar was introduced to the general population this tradition of gathering with friends for a much needed "Chocolate fix" came to an abrupt end. Fortunately it left behind a collection of beautiful Chocolate Pots and demitasse cups for those of us who don't remember those days to collect and cherish.
Hope this helps a bit.
BTW, since neither one of use alcohol, how about a nice tall glass of ice cold sweet tea instead. I'll still turn on my Hoosier Hositality by bringing the morels, and offer a ride, but I'm going to leave it up to you to tell Kerry10456 that they are on their own with this one. lol
Thank you oldmade for taking the time to share the information! You have a wonderful day! Your are right we are neighbors. I just may take you up on that ice tea and the morels. :-)
