Because it looked nice in the picture, I would like to have this. But when I received it, I really do not know what this is, in other words, where it is made from and for which purpose? THEREFORE LIKE YOUR HELP ??
The face, dress and jewelry seem to be drawn by hand and hold color the depicted lady is "on top". This feels completely smooth. The deeper
decorations on the sides seem to be colored and are also top.
The seller told me cloisonnee enamel but I think that is not correct.
The clip on the back is the wrong direction to make a fabric band to pick so you could think of a part of a buckle through. But that's also impossible by the direction of the image than wrong . Weight 35 gr and diameter of 2.1 (5.6 cm) and thickness of 0.3"(0.8 cm). What is this??
Newtimes, DrFluffy, aghcollect, and Manikin thanks you all four for loving.
Don't you have any idea what this or would it could be??
The style is medieval Europe (Italy) rather than Chinese. The back looks like something that clamps over a thick cord or two cords, like a bolo tie.
Agree with davyd286, this is not a chinese outfit. The lady in porcelain (?) seems to have been glued on an ivory base, probably a later arrangement.
The use of it is a total mystery!
Very nice anyway!
Davyd286 and kyratango thans you both for your interesting comment and loving!
