Found this rocker about 10 years ago in Jeannette, PA. I'm interested in finding out about the style of rocker and approximate age. The J.L. Pershing & Son Co. seems to have operated in the late 1880's. We have used it almost daily to rock our child to sleep but we've notice original fabric is starting to come apart due to age. We would like to clean/restore but would welcome some advise.
I'm not good at this, so hope this photo shows you what you need. I can try posting more photos if needed. thank you.
I am missing something here. Do you have a slightly more distant photo of the paper tag and the burlap strapping? The two don't strike me as belonging together in terms of age.
