My Dad cast this egg out of pure 999 silver back in the 70's for my Mom. It is an egg which sits atop three cherubs which are also cast from 999 silver. It comes apart in the center and my Mom keeps her turmaline in.

Your father was using investment/wax casting I presume? He did a beautiful job! I'm impressed.

Yes. We purchased silver, lots of silver.
He used a plastic Easter egg to make the mold for the wax cast. We still have a lot of his equipment. I have one of the experimental cherubs. :)
The rams head ring I posted he made also.

Even with a friction fit as opposed to threaded, I bet he spent many, many hrs getting a concentric non-stick fit. I appreciate such mastery.

I'm a silver freak, and that egg and stand are so lovely! The stand has a very old look about it. Your dad is very talented, no doubt about it.
